about

The story behind this collection of songs is one that deserves a novel-length account. But, this not being the place for such a tale, I shall be as brief as possible in relaying the background.

All of the recordings were made in Doghouse Studios in Henley-on-Thames, owned by former Jethro Tull drummer Barry Barlow. The projects had already been in development for some time before I became involved – I was initially presented with bunch of backing tracks, written by Richard Young. I added lyrics, melodies and vocals and, over a fairly short period of time, Richard and I developed a great writing partnership.

This collection of ‘polished demos’ features the first ever recordings and versions of songs like Kiss My Enemy, Open Season, Colour Me Gone and Stuffed (which is a very different-sounding song called Suck on this album), together with some rarities that very few people will have heard previously.
