I suppose this collection can be viewed as the first ever Apes, Pigs & Spacemen recordings.

Around this time, I was involved in a number of musical projects, and this one came about when Bart and I decided it would be fun to form a band playing exactly what we wanted to play. The first six tracks feature what was effectively the very first AP&S line-up – Bart on bass, Rob McKenzie on guitar and Dave Hill on drums. The band had no name. We played a fair number of gigs, sometimes making up a band name on the night, and when the demos were recorded, for the sake of giving a client name to the studio, we used the name Sacred Cows. And that stuck for a short while.

The final four tracks on this collection feature the incredible Pete Riley on drums. Pete kindly stepped in at very short notice after Dave Hill unexpectedly quit the band.
